 Rear-Table-Feeding (Multi-Layer Rack)
The basic system for intermediate and large cutting-volumes, for small print-runs and a continuous material-flow.
Description
This BAUMANN cutting-system is perfectly suitable for intermediate and large cutting-volumes and is thus the optimum system both for companies with changing and for companies with very large print-runs. Continuing production as well as the highest possible flexibility are the guarantee for an economic cutting-process. Small print-runs are jogged, stored within the multi-layer rack and are transferred towards the cutter as required. An important number of layers from different orders can be pre-jogged and stored. This system is most suitable for book-binderies, road-map- and label-production. Rear-table feeding guarantees an economic and high-quality cutting-process even for maximum layer-heights. The feeding-side consists of a pile-hoist, an automtaic jogger a gripper-transport system and the multi-layer rack¸ the unloading-side consists of an air-table and an unloader.
Pile Hoists
BAUMANN pile hoists lift the layers onto working-height, so that the operator is no longer forced to bend down in order to take the next layer. The productivity is increased considerably. BAUMANN pile turners are also a simple and ergonomically sound solution to restack printed sheets or other cut products manually after the cutting-process.
Automatic Joggers
BAUMANN automatic joggers guarantee the precise alignment of printed sheets prior to the cutting-process. BAUMANN automatic joggers are very solid and reliable, guaranteeing perfect jogging-results. All parameters can be immediately adjusted to suit the currently processed material. After the jogging-process, the air is pressed out of the layer automatically, increasing the accuracy of the subsequent cutting process.
Gripper Transport System
BAUMANN gripper transport systems transfer jogged layers automatically onto the rear-table of the cutter. Modern and highly dynamic drives guarantee the fast and accurate feeding of the cutter. Maximum layer heights can be processed
If installed in combination with a multi-layer rack BMR, BAUMANN gripper-transport systems are equipped with two gripper-waggons and are thus both able to feed and to unload the multi-layer-rack and to feed the cutter without any interruptions. Multi-Layer Rack (BMR)
BAUMANN multi-layer racks BMR compensate differences between jogging- and cutting-times as well as changing print-runs, enabling the cutter to work to capacity. On account of the important number of buffer-spaces, a system, which is equipped with a BMR, will usually be operated by two operators. The jogged layers are automatically taken out of the automatic jogger and are stored within the BMR. The layers are transferred onto the cutter’s table as required, the cutting-process determining the order. The basic BMR offers up to 15 buffer-spaces.
Wohlenberg High-Speed Cutters 
The cutter is the core of the cutting-system. WOHLENBERG cutters are well-known for their solid construction and their high quality. Very accurate cutting-results and easy operation have been combined with very short set-up times. Even difficult cutting-tasks can be carried out within the shortest possible delay. Modern PC-technology, the touch-screen-operator’s-panel as well as a modern design prove that WOHLENBERG cutters are built according to state-of-the-art technology. If required, WOHLENBERG cutters (115 and larger) can be delivered with automatic waste disposal ASE, increasing the productivity of the system even further. Numerous sensible options are available.
Unloaders
BAUMANN unloaders restack both single- and multiple cuts economically and highly precisely. The manual restacking of cut materials demands a lot of time and strength from the operator. BAUMANN unloaders automate the restacking process. The format setting has been automated. The cut materials can be restacked on one or on several pallets, either in the centre of the pallet or alternating. Numerous sensible options are available.
