Description
This BAUMANN cutting-system is the perfect solution for very high cutting volumes and is thus perfectly appropriate for companies with very large print-runs. The highest possible productivity combined with the least possible number of operators are the guarantee for a perfectly economic cutting process. The jogging-, cutting and restacking process have been automated to the highest possible degree. This system is appropriate for book-binderies, large printers, calender production and other companies with very high cutting-volumes, effecting only a four-side-trim with an optional dividing cut. The curved gripper transport system with a large number of buffer-spaces prevent the system from stand-still times during the pile-exchange.
The feeding side is composed of an automatic jogging system BASA, a curved gripper transport system BFS-R and an automatic positioning system APS. The unloading side consists of an air-table and an completely automatic unloader.
Automatic Jogging System BASA
BASA automatically destacks, jogs and transfers printed sheets to the subsequent finishing process. Partial layers are destacked from the pile, fanned out and aerated. One complete layer is built from the partial layers on top of the jogging table and is aligned precisely. BASA is an automatic jogging system, which can process very high cutting volumes without any operator’s assistance while providing perfect jogging results. All parameters, which influence the jogging process, can immediately be adjusted to suit the current material or product. An intelligent program management system guarantees very short set-up times.
After the jogging process, the air-expulsion roller presses out the remaining air, guaranteeing very accurate cutting results. In addition to the automatic mode, BASA can also be operated in a semi-automatic mode. The semi-automatic mode is usually used to process very badly formed piles, very small cutting volumes or very difficult materials. BASA is able to process grammages between approximately 60 g / m² and 300 g/m²
The curved gripper transport system is the most efficient way to feed the cutter via the rear-table. The jogged layers are transferred onto the cutter’s rear-table and deposited in front of the cutter’s back-gauge. The first cut is effected on the longitudinal side of the layer. The very compact installation and the very intelligent control are the guarantee for a highly effective system with the highest possible productivity. Maximum layer heights can be processed. Automatic Positioning System (APS)
APS is responsible for the automatic cutting process. The layer is turned and aligned automatically on the cutter’s rear-table, followed by the automatic cutting process. The layer is turned automatically by 90 or 180 °, followed by an automatic dividing cut, if required. Two alignment-pushers – one at the cutter’s back-gauge and a second pusher at the machine base – aligne the turned layer highly precisely.
Apart from the four-side-trim and the dividing-cut, all cuts are carried out manually (a change of the cutting-program is not necessary).
As soon as the four-side-trim has been effected, the layer can be transferred onto the table of the unloader automatically by the APS. In case that the layer has been divided beforehand, the divided layer can also be transferred automatically onto the table of the unloader. The solid construction, the highly dynamic drives as well as the intelligent 3-axis continuous path control are the guarantee for very short cutting-times. Wohlenberg High-Speed Cutters
The cutter is the core of the cutting-system. WOHLENBERG cutters are well-known for their solid construction and their high quality. Very accurate cutting-results and easy operation have been combined with very short set-up times. Even difficult cutting-tasks can be carried out within the shortest possible delay. Modern PC-technology, the touch-screen-operator’s-panel as well as a modern design prove that WOHLENBERG cutters are built according to state-of-the-art technology. If required, WOHLENBERG cutters (115 and larger) can be delivered with automatic waste disposal ASE, increasing the productivity of the system even further. Numerous sensible options are available.
Completely automatic unloader 
BAUMANN completely automatic unloaders can work in several modes so that both single- and multiple cuts can be restacked either semi- or completely automatically. BAUMANN unloaders guarantee highly precise restacking-results for all modes. Single- or divided cuts are automatically taken from the APS (automatic positioning system) and restacked. Multiple-cuts are manually put onto the unloader’s table by the operator and are then restacked automatically. The format setting has been automated.
The cut materials can be restacked on one or on several pallets, either in the centre of the pallet or alternating. Numerous sensible options are available. |
